Loitering while knitting

Last night a friend had free tickets to the Japandroids show and asked me to come along. I decided to bring the boring black wrap I'm making for my mom and work on that. We were sitting at a picnic table in front of the venue, me knitting happily away, waiting for her friend to bring our tickets when an angry bouncer type approached us and told us that there was no loitering and that we had to go inside the venue now or leave. We explained that we were waiting for a friend to bring our tickets and that we would go inside at that time. He grunted and walked away. Geez, what an ass! I think it was my knitting that made us look really suspicious.

Despite that kerfuffle, the show was great and Japandroids rocked. You can listen to/watch their live set on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic Show below.

It was a busy weekend. Besides getting yelled at by bouncers, I made a quick stop at the Arizona Federation of Weavers and Spinners Guilds' Fibers Through Time conference. The marketplace was pretty small but I was able to pick up some Chameleon Colorworks Twinkle Toes and Bambino sock yarn. I particularly like the Twinkle Toes, which is 50/50 Tencel and Merino. I hope they both make some cooler socks for the DH.

I also stopped by RedFish Dyeworks and got some 4-ply 50/50 merino/silk. Unfortunately all their colors weren't there, otherwise I would have bought more!

One more thing: My friend loaned me her turntable that you can hook up to your computer to record your vinyl LPs as MP3s! How freaking awesome is that? I see a lot more vinyl in my future ...

Ah, didn't you realise that knitters are dangerous terrorists? He must have been having a very boring day!
